I know it has been forever since I have posted on my little blog! Let's
just say I have been busy!! A new school year has started and I have 20
wonderful children that are keeping me busy. The job of a teacher never
seems to get easier. Since the Common Core roll out a few years back I
have been obsessed with teaching math in a student friendly and
conceptually focused manner. I truly believe that when students
understand what they are doing it leads to better math skills that they
can then apply to new concepts. Last year I started creating a new
product with daily word problems. Over the summer I tweaked it
and made some improvements and the result is 180 daily math word
problems. I am using these each day with my 2nd Graders. Each day
students solve one problem on their own and then we go over it as a
class. The word problems cover the majority of the Math Common Core
standards and present the material in deeper ways so that the students
can deeply understand the concepts. Check out some samples below and you
can grab it in my TPT shop HERE.

Free Calendars for 2012-2013
I made some free calendars for the 2012-2013 school year for my teacher notebook and thought I would share. A birthday chart is also included to record student birthdays in one spot.

Owl Classroom Materials
I have been working on some things for my classroom and thought I would share in case someone else was doing an owl theme and wanted to use some of the things I've made. They are FREE in my TPT store. I love to see comments and new followers! The clip art is an AppleGirlAmber original! This was my first try at making clip art so I'm hoping I get better as I go on.

Manners for School
As I am getting ready for next year I stumbled across some great books for the first few weeks of school. The books are a part of a manners series by Carrie Finn. I actually found them at Dollar General for $1 each. The books retail at amazon for about $7 each.
I was so inspired by these cute books that I decided to make a few things for my classroom. Each Set includes a page with reasons why we should use manners, and two student pages.

If you would like these for your classroom click the links below:
Also as a special treat, the first person to comment below will receive a free copy of each of the four books. Make sure and leave your email address so I can contact you to send your free books your way.
Happy Summer!!
